About The Net in The Hat Company

Some of the most useful inventions are also the most obvious. Obvious, that is, after someone has come up with the answer to an age-old problem. Like putting wheels on a suitcase, or a decent handle on the can opener.

The laconic, slow motion swipe known as the Great Aussie Salute is a bit like that. So, too, that whacky beekeeper net, we thought. Just waiting to be raised a notch or two.

As it turns out, the answer was readily at hand. You see, one of our directors, Kerry Rieve, had been quietly fly-free for the best part of 10 years, thanks to a traditional cotton flynet handed down by her late father, Frank. That's a lot of road-testing in all sorts of bush fly conditions. Not to mention heaps of spontaneous and totally unsolicited feedback from fair dinkum focus groups.

Time to beat the Great Aussie Salute!

NOTE: The Net in The Hat Company is a family business. We design, manufacture and wholesale all Foxfly products throughout Australia. We do not sell directly to the public.

Fly Fact: The smaller the female fly, the peskier it is. The reason? It needs extra protein to produce eggs.
